Talk "Interior yacht design: materiali per la nautica di oggi e domani"

On the occasion of the Salone Nautico di Genova 2025, the Department of Architecture and Design (DAD) of the University of Genoa organized a talk dedicated to the future of interior yacht design and to the role of materials in shaping onboard spaces and experiences.

The title of the event - “Interior Yacht Design: materials for the yachting industry of today and tomorrow” - highlights the importance of the dialogue between tradition and innovation, with a special focus on the value of Made in Italy, sustainability, and the education of new generations of designers.

Two outstanding companies took part in the discussion: ALPI, a leader in the field of engineered wood, and Rubelli, an international benchmark in the world of furnishing fabrics.

Alongside them, several renowned design studios shared their experience and vision, including Yellow Addition Design Studio, Pulina Exclusive Interiors, Bassan & Benedetti Yacht Architecture & Design, and m2 Atelier, all of which collaborate with major shipyards in the nautical and naval sectors.

The discussion was moderated by Maria Carola Morozzo della Rocca e di Bianzé (UniGE), Mariateresa Campolongo (UniGE), Luca Parodi (UniGE).

The talk was structured into two main parts: the first focused on the exchange between companies and professionals, while the second involved students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Nautical Product Design and the Master’s Degree in Naval and Nautical Design, who contributed to the dialogue between academia, industry, and professionals.
