In 1990, the first and only Italian University school totally oriented to pleasure boat design was founded.
Within this context, the MaReDesign – Marine Research Design was created. This group focuses on the world of boating, encompassing both design and management aspects.
This group is part of the DAD (Department of Architecture and Design- the Polytechnic School), and the Centro del Mare of the University of Genoa. It conducts research and university teaching in various fields of naval and nautical design, including concept development, exterior layout, interior design and decoration, conservation and enhancement of nautical heritage, construction technologies, innovation, and sustainability of processes and products.
